Artist's Union

In 1991, in order to promote their work and the development of their community, a group of about 40 artists in Solentiname gathered to form their own independent union, Unión de Pintores y Artesanos de Solentiname“Elvis Chavarria.” They have been represented in Managua by the Galeria Solentiname, directed by the painter, Elena Pineda.  Since its founding the Union has worked steadily to sustain and develop the artistic, economic and cultural life of their community.
